There has been this lingering thought that a blog might be useful. Lots of maintenance, vent ur anger, voice your opinion and upset some people. But the main objective is to connect and reconnect with friends and network to other people on the web.
With those loitering thoughts, I decided to compose one. AND... Here it is, my first blog and posting. I don't suppose anyone really cares what I think since I am only a single voice. So whatever I write, don't get offended. Whatever I write, I might be wrong. Whatever I write, they are only my thoughts as I am penning this in whatever tense it may be in. To be quite honest, I have no concern whether there are a few readers or not. It's just me. I write because I enjoy it and I write to better my command of the English language. By the English language, I don't mean I'm illiterate or anything. I have better command than most people I know, because I am also able to teach English to foreigners. It is such an enjoyable job!~ >__>
My aim is to write and bore the hell out of you. I will write about my teaching philosphy and discuss openly about my students. Just kidding!~ They are totally out of bounds. Although perhaps if I were to have a bad day....... =)
The reason for this blog is to discuss my passion for the Single Lens Reflex Camera and basically, myself. My love of photography, (thanks to my acquaintances) started off at work. I must say, it hasn't been a cheap ride.
I started off with a Canon 1000D, Non-IS (Image Stabilisation, Anti-Shake, Vibration Reduction, whatever turns you on) twin lens kit with the specs at 17-55mm F3.5-5.6 and 75-300mm F4-5.6 (I might be wrong about the F stop). Subsequently I bought another kit lens that had IS and on top of that, additional lens hood and the what not.
Other purchases down the track included a tripod, Flash and some other stuff.
Before the development of this blog, I have had fun with the camera, lots of nice photos, but it just wasn't cutting it anymore. It has since been sold off for a few quid and my gear upgraded.
I now have in my arsenal:
Canon 7D with battery grip
15-85mm F3.5-f5.6 IS USM lense
50mm F1.8 Mk II
70-200mm F2.8 IS USM L Series
17-55 F3.5-5.6 IS
55-250 F4-5.6 IS
430EXII Flash with Stofen Omnibounce Diffuser
Remote shutter cord
Manfrotto Tripod
Lowepro backpack to stick it all in
Did I say this isn't a cheap ride? Well yeah, it isn't.
The upgrade was done last year and I must say, I have seen a substantial improvement with my shots and my skills. The gear has granted me more variety with shots. However, I do get a little bit of over-exposure still with my pictures. Something I have to work on.
Anyways. First post is done and dusted.
